Credible is an artist book that was actualized around the time of the Kavanaugh hearings and his subsequent appointment to the supreme court. Rather than articles, the content of this newspaper is a prose poem about the experience of abuse from the perspective of the victim. The poem repeats three times, each is obscured and edited in different ways, only one is completely legible. While making this piece, I was thinking about how emotion is represented in the media. It is inadequate to say that the nature of “truth” can be based solely in fact and physical evidence while disregarding the subjective truths, which are often complex and contradictory.
